DAY 1 - We meet our son!

"In love He predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace..."

Well today was the day we got to see our son for the first time! The meeting we had beforehand did not go as we had hoped which had subdued the excitement somewhat however as we got in the car to meet our boy, we really tried to focus on what was about to take place and the excitment and antisipation began to build once again (and nerves as we parked the car on the drive, knowing he was just around the corner!

R was in the garden with the little boy he is currently living with and as we opened the garden gate, there he was - his big blue eyes greeted us and a little chubby smile warmed our hearts! So, a little chubby, blonde haired boy toddled over to us and held out his hand to each of us. It was then he put his arms out for us to carry him and lift him off of the wall he was standing on - something we had not expected as the foster carer infomed us he would be clingy to her and would probably scream if we picked him up. Clearly his heart had been prepared!!

We spent about an hour with him, playing football in the garden and then with his toys in the house. It was a wonderful experience and we felt like we bonded straight away. We found it hard to leave our son but look forward to the morning where we will see him again.

Thank you for your messages, thoughts and prayers, we look forward to introducing this lovely little boy to you soon. We hope you enjoy the pictures to follow this post...
